§. 3.    Sowohl die None als Quarte müssen vorbereitet seyn, folglich hat man nur die dritte Stimme aufzusuchen. Man merke folgendes zur Erleichterung: Wenn man den Sextquintenaccord von der Untersecunde des Grundtones nimmt, so hat man unsern Accord in der Hand, welcher mehrentheils nach dem erstern bey dem Heraufsteigen des Basses vorkommt. Ferner, wenn man den Secundquintquartenaccord weiß, so kennet man auch diesen. Die beyden dissonirenden Intervalle unsers Accordes gehen in der Folge mehrentheils zugleich (a), dann und wann nach einander herunter (b): §3.    Both the ninth and the fourth must be prepared, so one only has to locate the third voice. Note the following for convenience: if one plays a 6-5.svg chord to the note a second below the bass, then one has our chord in the hand, which generally follows after a 6-5.svg chord while the bass ascends. Moreover, if one is familiar with the 5-4-2-italic.svg chord, then one knows the 9-4.svg chord as well. Both dissonant intervals in this chord generally descend together (a), but occasionally descend separately (b):
