| 26. Capitel. Von rückenden Noten | Chapter 26. On syncopations |
| §. 3. Geschwinde Rückungen werden, nachdem ihre Beschaffenheit ist, mit vorausgenommener oder aufgehaltener Harmonie begleitet, aber niemals mitgespielet; sie mögen in der Hauptstimme oder im Basse stecken, so gehet der Accompagnist seinen gleichen Weg fort, und schlägt bey folgenden Exempeln seine Accorde in Viertheilen an; hierdurch erhält die rechte Hand das Gleichgewicht des Tactes, wenn die rückende Noten im Basse liegen (a): | §3. Fast syncopations are, according to their nature, accompanied either with the anticipated or held-over harmony, but they are never played [off the beat]. Whether they appear in the principal voice or in the bass, the accompanist continues on his way, and, in the following examples, plays his chords in quarter notes. Through this the right hand stays in meter, in case the syncopations appear in the bass (a): |
