§. 8. Die reine Quarte kann die große und kleine Sexte bey sich haben. Die Auflösung dieses Accords kann gleich drauf in  geschehen (a); doch ist dieses nicht allezeit nothwendig, der Baß mag liegen bleiben oder sich fortbewegen, weil wir oft die Folge von Ziffern anders finden, wobey zuweilen die Auflösung der Quarte zwar aufgehalten, aber nicht abgebrochen wird (b):

§8. The perfect fourth may take a major or minor sixth with it. The resolution of this chord can occur directly afterwards into (a); but this is not always necessary, as the bass may remain held or move, as required by the following figures, whereby the resolution of the fourth is occasionally delayed, but never aborted (b):
