§. 1. Es ist beynahe besser, wenn man im folgenden Exempel die Auflösung der falschen Quinte durch eine Verwechselung^ⓘ dem Basse überläßt, und bey dem Sextquartenaccord die Sexte verdoppelt, als wenn man so verführe, wie es eigentlich seyn sollte, daß nämlich die falsche Quinte bey der zweyten Note in die Octave gienge. Bey dieser Art von Sextquartenaccord klingt die letztere allezeit widrig. Aus diesem Grunde würde die Bezifferung unsers Exempels bey (b) besser seyn, als die vorhergehende bey (a):

chord, rather than proceeding as it actually should be: namely, that the diminished fifth would go directly to the octave over the second bass note. In this kind of

chord the latter always sounds poor. For this reason the figuring of our example would be better at (b) than at (a):
